Kate is a chaplain in an acute care hospital with previous experience providing spiritual & bereavement care through hospice. She lives in Austin, Texas with her husband and two young kiddos and assists in leading Lament Nights on a regular basis for her church, Austin Mustard Seed. Kate’s favorite definition of grief is that it is the “normal and natural response to a loss of any kind” and is honored to companion any in need of support as they navigate life adjusting to loss. 

J.R. Briggs

J.R. is a National Trainer & Equipper for Fresh Expressions U.S. He is also the Founder of Kairos Partnerships, a ministry that seeks to love the Church by caring for Her leaders. He is an author, co-author, and contributor of nine books that seek to equip and care for kingdom leaders. J.R. and his wife Megan have been married for over 18 years and have two sons, Carter and Bennett. 

Linda F. Gorham, Ph.D

Dr. Gorham is the President and Founder of Spring in the Desert Ministries, Inc. She holds degrees in Divinity and Applied Developmental Psychology and is a child and adolescent psychotherapist. SDM has grown to include an outreach ministry to young boys in juvenile detention; discipleship, counseling, and spiritual care ministries; and a new church plant, SDM Community Dinner Church, located in northern Baltimore County.

Dr. Philip Monroe

Dr. Monroe, PsyD, leads the Trauma Healing Institute team at American Bible Society. He leads Missio Seminary's Global Trauma Recovery Institute, a continuing education opportunity for mental health professionals and humanitarians. He maintains a small clinical practice at Diane Langberg & Associates where he provides care for ministry leaders.
